DRD Minister, Danny Kennedy MLA, has announced the appointment of Sandra Overend MLA as his Assembly Private Secretary.
Mr Kennedy said:
“I am delighted to announce that Sandra Overend MLA has been appointed as my new Assembly Private Secretary. I look forward to working closely alongside Sandra going forward.
“Jo-Anne Dobson MLA is standing down to concentrate on the important work of ensuring that her Private Members Bill on Organ Donation is brought successfully through the Assembly. I would like to thank Jo-Anne for her hard work and significant contribution in the APS role.”
In another announcement, Sandra Overend MLA will lead the Ulster Unionist Party`s Economy Team, working alongside Robin Swann MLA, who is Chairman of the DEL Committee.
The Independent Review of Economic Policy recommended that the best way to boost Northern Ireland`s economic fortunes was to combine DEL and DETI. While the Executive has failed to move on this matter the Ulster Unionist Party has not. Sandra Overend MLA and Robin Swann MLA will be joined by the Party Leader, Mike Nesbitt MLA and also Councillor Mark Cosgrove. Councillor Cosgrove will be the Party`s Business spokesperson. Mark is a local businessman with vast experience of working in the private sector.
