We collect your name and contact information, including your postal address, email address and telephone numbers. We also ask for your date of birth, occupation, details of criminal convictions (if any) and membership of other political parties.

We collect this information to check that you meet the conditions of membership, for membership renewal, and to assist us in keeping you informed about the activities of the Ulster Unionist Party and its elected representatives, including internal candidate selection.

This information will be treated confidentially and we will never share this information to any organisation or individual outside the Ulster Unionist Party without your consent.

Contact

If you contact us using our messaging service on our website, we will ask you for your name, email address and phone number. This information will be used for contacting you, to help us provide you with the information you require in response to your query and keep you updated with the activities of the Ulster Unionist Party. We may also need to transfer this information to Ulster Unionist Party political representatives to deal with your specific issue.

 This may be used to keep you updated with issues which you or others have raised in your constituency, deal with ongoing casework and to keep you updated with the activities of your local Ulster Unionist Party representatives and activists.

This information will be treated confidentially and we will never share or this information to any organisation or individual outside the Ulster Unionist Party without your consent.

The Ulster Unionist Party`s general retention policy is to hold information for 7 years. In some circumstances, such as to meet legal obligations, to help resolve disputes and deal with your ongoing casework we may hold on to your personal information for longer than our general retention policy.

Donations

If you donate to the Ulster Unionist Party, we will ask for your name, address, email address and telephone numbers to assist us process your donation, and if you donate more than £500, to check that you are on the Electoral Register. We will also ask for payment details such as debit/credit card numbers and expiry dates. We will retain cheque payment details if that is your payment method of choice. This information will be retained in our database.

If you donate more £1,500 to an Ulster Unionist Party accounting unit such as a local constituency association during a calendar year or more than £7,500 to the Ulster Unionist Party centrally during a calendar year we are obliged under law to inform the Electoral Commission who will publish this information. We will supply them with your name and the amount of your donation.

We may also collect information from other sources such as the Electoral Register, Census and other publicly available documentation.

Information on children

The Ulster Unionist Party will not knowingly process any personal details from individuals under the age of 18 without parental/guardian consent.
